About FORTITUDE:
Forty has a very gentle nature and is truly a pleasure to be around. He is about to go under saddle and will be a truly stunning horse who will be able to take his rider through to the highest levels. His grandfather, Fürst Love, a licensed and performance tested Oldenburger, is a sensational stallion with the looks, movement, and pedigree of a superstar. He was Oldenburger Licensed in December 2008 and completed an impressive 30-day performance test as a 2-year-old. He finished third in dressage (after two 4-year-old stallions) out of a group of 28. His super gaits earned him scores of 8.5, 8.5 and 9.0. His temperament and rideability are exceptional and his movements are of especially high quality. He has a super ground covering walk, and an expressive trot with plenty of hock and knee action. The canter being the highlight of his gaits, is extremely graceful, active, uphill, and wonderfully balanced. Forty’s sire, Fiji R, is a black Oldenburg stallion standing at 16.1hh with his sire being Florencio and dam Hawaii. Florencio is by Florestan I, who has evolved into one of the top influential dressage lines in the world, with offspring competing at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Fiji R has had huge success in Prix St George and Inter 1. Fiji R carries the bloodlines of Florestan 1, Weltmeyer, Hohenstein, and Hill Hawk, and has developed a reputation for siring very pretty and elegant foals with beautiful movements and wonderful temperaments. Fiji R has the sweetest temperament himself. He is carrying some wonderful bloodlines being by Florencio, who was the World Young Horse Dressage Champion as a 5-year-old and then again as a 6-year-old. Florencio initially looked like being the number one stallion in the world, until he contracted EVA. This stopped Florencio from his breeding duties and Fiji R was one of his first foals. Forty has a wealth of champion horses in his pedigree. His ancestry is not only loaded with extraordinary mare families, but also Stallions who are well recognized for their ‘history making’ influence on warmblood breeding worldwide. Stallions such as Florestan I, Donnerhall, and Rubinstein, the three most influential stallions of the century, all have their place in the pedigree of Fürst Love, Forty’s grandfather on the dam side. Added to this are two of modern history’s most influential sires and world champions, Fürst Heinrich and Sandro Hit. These lines are proving to be very popular in Germany, including the very closely related Fürst Wilhelm. Fürst Wilhelm is a 7/8 brother to Fürst Love and has sired some lovely youngsters, including licensed sons and Bundeschampions. Sandro Hit continues to write history, breaking records with his offspring at auctions all over the world. Sandro Hit progeny are consistently winning young horse championships and awarded as champions, elite, and premium at stallion licensing, performance tests and mare shows. Fürst Heinrich was well on his way to stardom before his life was sadly cut short at the age of 7. Awarded a premium stallion at his licensing, he then went on to become champion of his performance test in Münster- Handorf. As a five-year-old in 2003, he was crowned as a world dressage champion. In his short breeding career, he has produced well over 40 licensed stallions, including many premium stallion, champions, and reserve champions. The impressive list of state premium mares sired by Fürst Heinrich is further evidence to the consistent quality this stunning stallion produced. Forty descends from the famous ‘Love Story’ mare family. This family has produced countless champions, elite, and state premium mares, and premium Stallions and wrote breeding history when she produced the Rastede mare show champion, Love Story II (who later produced the Rastede Mare Show Champion, Love Story V). Numerous successful high level dressage horses have been born from this family. These include Dreamcatcher (who sold for 406,000 euro), La Piko S, Levantino H, Sir Diamond, Saturday, Rubin Extra, Feinbrand, Universal, Don Romantica, Froschkonig, Fürst Wilhelm, Decamerone (half-brother to Fürst Love, sold for 380,000 euro), Sohn der Sonne, Lady Devinja, St.Pr.St. Lady’s Flavia, St.Pr./El St. Lady’s Nice, El.St. Lady Die, St.Pr/El.St. Lady Diva, Verb.Pr.St. Lady’s Donna, Verb.Pr.St. Lady’s Dame, St.Pr.St. Etoile and the list goes on. Forty also has very impressive jumping horses in her pedigree. Forty’s grandmother – Belcam Havika was sired by the famous Hanoverian jumping horse Hector, imported into Australia by Belcam Stud and now exported to New Caledonia. Havika boasts some great performers in her pedigree including Capone, Capprilli, and Grannus.
