About COSMO:
Cosmo’s sire, Calgary GNZ, is a 2008 17hh bay and is Holstein royalty. His sire, Casall ASK, is one of the world’s leading sport horses, with multiple winnings in Global Champions Tour events, numerous Grand Prix’s, and placings at the FEI World Cup finals in 2012. He has now retired after a fantastic career – world championship, the olympic games and the Global Tour.
Calgary’s Dam, Countess, competed in Germany, USA, and Canada, having great success before also retiring. Her sire is Calato – a great sire. Countess decends from the famed Stamm 173 (Vase/Ramzes), which is responsible for producing Capital, a stallion who still has a major impact within the sport.
Calgary GNZ has outstandng conformation, he is a very tall and athletic horse with flashy markings and a strong colour. He is going well under saddle showing tremendous movement and athleticism with a great work ethic. His free-jumping ability is amazing and he is a very exciting horse of the future; a horse that combines pedigrees type and ability with a super personality.
Cosmo’s grandfather, Don Dancier, is a black homozygous stallion and a premium registered Hanoverian stallion. He was awarded premium at the Hanoverian Licensing in Verden back in 2009. He then went on to successfully complete his performance test in 2010. Don Dancier stood at stud in Germany at Gestut Sprehe before coming to Australia in 2011. His sire, Dancier, was the champion stallion of the Hanoverian Licensing in Verden 2004 and won his stallion performance test in Adelheidsdorf 2005. He was declared Best Stallion of his Year at the beginning of 2006.
Cosmo has a wealth of champion horses in his pedigree. His ancestry is not only loaded with extraordinary mare families, but also stallions who are well recognised for their ‘history making’ influence on warmblood breeding worldwide. Stallions such as De Niro and Donnerhall, the two most influential stallions of the century, have their place in the pedigree of Don Dancier.
Additionally, Cosmo has very impressive jumping horses in his pedigree. Cosmo’s grandmother, Belcam Havika, was sired by the famous Hanoverian jumping horse Hector, imported into Australia by Belcam Stud, and now exported to New Caledonia. Havika boasts some fantastic performers in her pedigree including Capone, Capprilli, and Grannus.
